Just back from the American northwest and it’s time for a quick INTA report. INTA 2018 was great. The weather, the food, the networking, the panels, the drinks and dinners with old friends (and some new) were all excellent. Here are some event highlights from the IPfolio team:
See Seattle from the Sea Adventures
IPfolio COO Mark Bullard lives near Seattle, is an experienced sailor and owns a Beneteau 38. Why not take advantage? We did. During INTA, Mark showed more than a dozen small groups of customers and friends what the Seattle skyline looks like from several miles offshore. Fortunately, Seattle’s infamously moist weather was absent as our sailing guests enjoyed spectacular weather during their 90-minute cruises.
W Hotel Reception with ipan
We have a great relationship with ipan. Not only do we value their services, we like hanging out with their people. Our co-sponsored reception on Sunday at the W Hotel was well attended by customers, prospects and others who share an enthusiasm for trademarks and craft beer.
We took advantage of the presence of several European customers to give them some in-person training on our new trademark functionality. It was exciting to see their excitement as we introduced functionality that is completely new to trademark management. (For more details on IPfolio’s new trademark functionality, read our interview with VP of Solution Delivery Heather Fleener).
The agenda featured dozens of interesting sessions. Two that were highly rated by the IPfolio team were the discussion of trademarks in pharma and medical devices, and the two-hour discussion of “Connectional Intelligence” by author Erica Dhawan, which looked at the way that we connect with colleagues, partners and co-workers.
Did we emphasize the food enough? Probably not, but you have to suspect that INTA organizers enjoy seafood given that last year’s host city was Barcelona, this year’s was Seattle, and Boston will welcome the trademark world in 2019. After Pacific and Alaskan salmon and crab, we’re confident we’ll see a few lobster options on event menus next year.
With the sun shining, Seattle is a very impressive host city. The event organization was again excellent. Seeing so many friends of IPfolio from around the globe always satisfies. Mark earned a special shoutout (and a meritorious service badge if we had them) for his experienced helmsmanship, which ensured that none of the outings became “three hour tours” for our maritime guests.
See you in Boston next year!
